English Law in Ukraine: To be or not to be
Many Ukrainian law students dream to practice in one team and learn some secrets from foreign lawyers or even work in the international law firm, though not everyone succeeds in it.
UBA Students’ League offers you a unique opportunity to put your questions to the English solicitor with practical experience in Ukraine and abroad!
We are happy to announce an open lecture from Petr Malecek – Counsel, Solicitor, Head of Central European Desk at Spenser & Kauffmann!
Petr Malecek has 25 years of experience in international law and finance as both an investment banker and a lawyer with firsthand experience in various financial centers including Tokyo, London and across Europe having advised governments, corporate entities and financial institutions.
Petr Malecek will raise the following important questions:
— Petr’s motivation to arrive in Ukraine and first impressions;
— The background and the aftermaths of foreign law firms’ expansion in the Ukrainian legal market;
— The future of English law and English lawyers in Ukraine: expectations and perspectives;
— Why learning English law is important for Ukrainian lawyers.
Join us on Friday, October 20th, at Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
